Dyson’s Senior Operations Manager directs and manages the day-to-day activities of the organisation’s operations. Responsibilities include implementing operational procedures, evaluating and enhancing current systems, monitoring performance against goals, and developing reporting and auditing processes. The role also involves coordinating operations with other key functions within the organisation.
The Senior Operations Manager reports to the Head of Operations and contributes to strategic decisions affecting the operational area. Key duties include overseeing business operations, ensuring adherence to Dyson policies, developing and driving operational KPIs with team managers, managing relationships with contract manufacturers, and leading process improvements and risk mitigation efforts for new product and technology transfers. The role also involves driving CSR initiatives, cost, quality, and delivery improvements, and managing cross-functional projects and stakeholder relationships.
The candidate should possess a deep understanding of operational project management, leadership skills, and experience in electronics manufacturing. They must be proactive, results-driven, and capable of working under pressure within tight deadlines.
Applicants should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing and leadership roles. Excellent communication skills, teamwork, Six Sigma training, and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles are essential. Additional skills include familiarity with plastic injection mould tooling, line jigs, fixture testing equipment, and the ability to create clear PowerPoint presentations.
