Senior Operation Officer, Residence & Recreations
Senior Operation Officer – Residence & Recreations will support the Sports & Recreation Services in promoting and developing sports and recreational activities on campus, aiming to foster a healthy lifestyle among staff and students.
The role also involves managing daily back office operations of Curtin Residence Kingfisher (various blocks) and Water II, including monitoring budgets, ensuring quality service, policy adherence, and supervising the team under the Manager – Retail, Residence and Fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Sporting and Recreation Services, including venues and facilities, develop and promote programs, support events, maintain facilities and equipment, and manage gym memberships.
- Increase participation in sports and recreational activities through effective promotion.
- Generate revenue by promoting venue hire to external clients and corporates.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Recreation and Event Centre, manage gym memberships, and ensure facilities are well-maintained.
- Organize and execute sports and recreational programs, support student and staff clubs, and promote participation.
- Build relationships with student and staff groups to enhance sports services.
- Ensure adherence to campus policies regarding gym access.
- Review facility booking applications.
- Supervise and motivate Sport Clubs, ensuring professionalism, customer service, and policy compliance.
- Manage back office operations for residences, including housekeeping and maintenance, maintain inventory, and coordinate with campus services for major repairs.
- Conduct performance evaluations, handle disciplinary actions, and oversee maintenance schedules.
- Maintain communication with residents via WhatsApp groups about maintenance and events.
About you
You should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business and Management with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Excellent customer service skills and record management abilities.
- Ability to work independently, lead teams, and organize effectively.
- Understanding of policies and procedures.
- Teamwork skills and proven gym advising experience.
- Effective communication skills, customer enquiry handling, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work shifts, possess a driving license, be a certified first aider, and perform simple equipment maintenance.
