Job description

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in server hardening, performance tuning and patch management.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT server administration or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of networking basics (IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP) and security protocols.
• Problem‑solving skills for diagnosing server and network issues.
• Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to high‑pressure situations, such as server downtimes or security breaches.
• Willingness to travel, if required for multi‑location or regional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide Software/Hardware Technical IT Support nationwide whenever required.
• Research and suggest/provide/devise solutions to users based on the requirements requested.
• Perform administration tasks (create/edit/delete) for all Systems/Servers that can be accessed.
• Coordinate and liaise with Vendors on maintenance agreements/new projects inclusive of Bursa mock runs.
• Perform Daily/Monthly/Yearly health checks on systems inclusive of data backup or as per request basis.
• Ensure compliance of company's IT Audit Policies and work with SG/MY/Outsource Internal Audit.
• Participate in UAT/SIT/Deployment/BCP/DR exercises conducted by internal/external parties.

Technical Requirements

Server Technical Requirements

• Ensure servers uptime and availability that meets the threshold level in accordance with company's policy.
• Perform and maintain all servers setup inclusive of Hyper‑V, VMWare, cloud instances (EC2, ECS, Containerized) etc.
• Monitor server performance on daily basis using monitoring tools and report any irregularities.
• Continuously perform Server Hardening and OS Updates on all existing and new servers.
• Work closely with relevant IT Divisions to identify EOL servers, threats and patches.
• Explore current trend's Server Infrastructure that may benefit and produce cost saving to the company.
• Be in charge of all server rooms and ensure all equipment are in good shape and secured from any hazard.

Network Technical Requirements

• Proactively monitor and manage network systems, including firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers, with routine health checks, focusing on IPVPN and IPsec VPN connections.
• Develop and maintain firewall policies, configure network devices, manage firmware updates, and conduct security risk assessments to ensure robust protection.
• Diagnose and resolve network‑related issues while providing operational support for other infrastructure components such as servers and PCs.
• Support audit security assessments and enforce comprehensive network security controls.
• Serve as the group primary contact for managing network infrastructure across all Malaysia branches.
• Strategically plan with roadmap and execute preventive maintenance initiatives for network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
