Job summary

GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd. in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Network Platform Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure to design and manage cloud networking across AWS and other providers.

You will build scalable, secure, and self-service networking platforms, and develop automation to provision and configure networks efficiently. The role emphasizes improving observability, reliability, and performance while partnering with infrastructure, security, and application teams to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering or cloud infrastructure management.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating cloud network infrastructure on AWS or another major cloud provider.
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, VPN, BGP, IPsec, firewalls, load balancing).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage cloud network infrastructure across AWS and other providers.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration, validation, and lifecycle management using IaC and workflows.
• Build internal platforms, APIs, and orchestration systems for self-service network requests and approvals.
• Define and maintain standards for IPAM, CIDR allocation, routing, and multi-region connectivity.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, BGP, IPsec, NAT, and load balancers.
• Implement automated checks for route correctness, connectivity intent, and policy compliance.
• Improve network observability with logs, metrics, and dashboards.
• Partner with infra, security, platform, and apps teams to deliver secure cloud connectivity.
• Drive reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence across cloud networking services.
• Document architectures, configurations, and procedures.

Get to Know the Role

We're looking for a Senior Network Platform Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure to join our organization in Malaysia or Jakarta.

In this role, you will design, build, and manage cloud networking infrastructure while building platforms that make cloud networking reliable, scalable, secure, and self-service. You will work on core cloud network infrastructure components and develop automation, APIs, and orchestration systems that enable end-to-end network provisioning and configuration.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will design, build, and manage cloud network infrastructure across AWS and other cloud service providers, owning core networking components including VPCs, subnets, route tables, Transit Gateway, VPC peering, NAT gateways, internet gateways, private endpoints, VPN, Direct Connect, DNS, and firewall integrations
• You will automate network provisioning, configuration, validation, and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code and software-driven workflows
• You will build internal platforms, APIs, and orchestration systems that enable self-service network requests, approvals, provisioning, auditability, and rollback capabilities
• You will define and maintain standards for IP address management, CIDR allocation, routing, segmentation, tagging, naming conventions, resiliency, and multi-account or multi-region connectivity
• You will troubleshoot complex network issues across TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, BGP, IPsec, MTU, routing, NAT, firewalls, and load balancing with efficiency and precision
• You will implement automated checks for route correctness, connectivity intent, configuration drift, policy compliance, and network security boundaries
• You will improve network observability through flow logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, diagnostics, and incident response tooling
• You will partner with infrastructure, security, platform, and application teams to deliver secure and reliable cloud connectivity aligned with business objectives
• You will drive reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence across cloud networking services
• You will document system architectures, configurations, and operational procedures for organizational knowledge management

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering or cloud infrastructure management
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating cloud network infrastructure on AWS or another major cloud provider
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, VPN, BGP, IPsec, firewalls, load balancing, and network segmentation
• Hands-on experience with AWS networking services such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Route 53, VPC endpoints, security groups, NACLs, and flow logs
• Strong software development skills in one or more languages such as Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript
• Proven experience building automation, internal tools, APIs, or platforms for infrastructure orchestration
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or similar
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and network connectivity issues across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments
