Technology & Systems Department

The Technology & Systems department drives technological innovation for the company and advances the technology strategy to support global growth. This includes IT, Software Development, OT/Automation Systems, and business process improvement. At Vantage we are very hands on. In most cases we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware. We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes so we can make informed purchase decisions. The department participates in designing each of our new data center building’s networking infrastructure, including diverse pathways connecting to carriers, meet‑me room hosting, wireless AP coverage, and more.

We rely on extreme collaboration with Sales, Construction, Operations and Corporate Functions to drive simplification, establish global standards with continuous improvement and speed to value. Position Overview

Vantage is looking for an ambitious, detail‑oriented Senior Network Engineer that is responsible for network operations and large-scale projects globally. This is an extremely technical role requiring a deep understanding of networking technologies and concepts. The position is accountable for Operational Excellence and Customer Service and a key responsibility is leading and driving the network activities associated with large scale projects.

Essential Job Functions

• BAU network support during APAC hours
• Leading large scale network migrations in APAC
• Drive improvements to processes and procedures

Duties

• Collaborate to design, build, and support all networks required for Vantage Corporate, Security Management Systems, Building Management Systems, and other needs as defined by the business, including creation/updating of all supporting documentation
• Create, implement, and support standard processes and procedures to support Service Level Agreements to both Vantage business partners and Vantage customers for network uptime, reliability, service, and performance
• Assist in the specification, ordering, purchasing, asset‑tracking, and inventory of network-related equipment/supplies/software
• Maintain the network infrastructure globally, highlighting and recording issues identified, creating action plans to resolve
• Utilize necessary tools to identify and resolve complex issues in a timely manner
• Challenge, report and elevate as necessary to resolve any issues affecting the availability, security or integrity of the network infrastructure
• Work closely with cybersecurity to ensure we are following policies and best practices to secure and harden the network
• Actively research and investigate new tools/technologies to improve the efficiency of the team
• Lead and own large‑scale projects by creating effective project plans, leveraging internal tools (JIRA, etc.) to provide accurate and timely updates to stakeholders
• Functions of this position are to be performed in a company‑designated office or field location
• Understand and comply with the company’s Acceptable Use Policy and other industry‑specific professional and ethical standards, if applicable

Job Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive network engineering experience with multi‑site global networks supporting highly transactional and highly sensitive data applications
• Demonstrable CCNP/JNCIP/CCIE/JNCIE level or higher experience required
• Data Center experience is required
• Proficiency with Fortinet would be highly advantageous, but not essential
• Expert level troubleshooting of LANs (layer 2 networks), fault finding and isolation, understanding of technologies such as Spanning Tree, Port channels, Stacking, etc.
• Strong experience with layer 3 routing, working with ISPs to resolve issues such as latency and packet loss
• Strong experience with firewalls, policies, VPNs, general concepts, and advanced inspection and filtering techniques
• Experience working on network migrations, creating project plans, managing multiple projects and delivering according to deadlines
• Proficiency in network design and architecture
• Nice to have: Microsoft Certification: Azure Network Engineering Associate; Azure MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
• Participation in an on‑call rota would be required
• Travel required: 5 to 10% but may increase over time as the business evolves
