Job summary

CFI Financial Group is seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing team in Malaysia. You will design, build, and deploy ML models and AI agents, leveraging LLMs and MCP within Databricks to solve complex fintech problems.

Responsibilities include data acquisition, model deployment, RAG systems, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Strong Python, ML libraries, and cloud/containerization experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as Senior Machine Learning Engineer.
• Strong Python skills with experience in ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras).
• Proven experience developing and deploying LLM-powered agents with multi-step reasoning.
• Hands-on experience with RAG architectures and MCP.
• Strong proficiency in Databricks for ML workflows, training, and deployment.
• End-to-end experience deploying ML models and AI agents to production.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational & NoSQL databases.
• Experience with data streaming (Kafka, Flink, or similar).
• Familiarity with MLOps practices: model versioning, CI/CD, monitoring, automated retraining.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with NLP, transformers, and predictive analytics models.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
• Fintech or financial services background strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize ML models.
• Develop, test, and deploy AI agents using LLMs and MCP within Databricks.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and multi-step reasoning agents.
• Deliver scalable ML and AI solutions that integrate with existing systems.
• Acquire, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources for ML initiatives.
• Ensure data and model quality, integrity, and compliance with best practices.
• Break down AI/ML projects into actionable tasks with time estimates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data engineering, front-end, business, PM, product).
• Maintain documentation, milestones, and deliverables.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing; uphold coding standards and reviews for AI/ML projects.
