A renowned company in the retail sector is seeking a Merchandising Executive to manage inventory, budget, and cross-functional collaboration. Your role is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies that reflect the objective and priorities of the Group, while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of brand values to the omnichannel end consumer. Your role’s focus is to ensure that products appear in the right store, or on the right channel, at the appropriate time and in the correct quantities.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Budget, Performance, and Inventory Management
• Responsible for the translation of financial goals into OTB plan (revenue, margin, discount, inventory) based on insights learned from business analysis
• Act as the financial owner & risk-assessor of all markdown strategies; lead and drive all sale events
• Collaborate with retail and digital teams in fine-tuning distribution plans for achievement of base inventory & stock cover goals; plan necessary actions to optimize inventory efficiency
• Manage the distribution of stock, liaising between Business Intelligence, Marketing Intelligence, Operations, stores, suppliers, and franchisees. Control stock levels based on forecasts for the season. Be the Owner of Seasonal Buy Review, elaborating Pre-Buy assumptions vs. post-buy actuals, suggest and lead continuous improvement plan
• Analyse data on revenue, margin, and new launches performance; initiate strategies in response to sales trends to improve profitability
Support to Commercial Functions (across channels):
• Support product team in defining seasonal assortment range plans & assortment productivity goals
• Drive data driven culture in Operations team by partnering with data team on improving data accessibility
• Monitor department KPIs on a weekly basis (i.e. sell-through rate, discount rate, revenue target, stock cover)
• Lead the team to prepare weekly analysis to identify the Operations team’s current standing and recommend measures that should be taken
• Seasonal review on buying accuracy with the Buying team, identify the strengths and weaknesses of the buys and suggest areas of improvement
• Provide proactive support to all teams across planning, performance review and during online and offline sale events
• Work closely with the visual merchandising team to decide how goods should be displayed to maximise customer interest and sales
