Job summary

A leading company in fashion merchandising is looking for a Merchandising Manager to develop strategies and analyze trends in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and Excel skills, as well as 2-5 years of experience in the field. This role involves strategic planning to meet customer expectations while driving company goals.

Job description

  • Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers’ expectations and the company’s objectives.
  • Analyse sales figures, customer reactions, and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock.
  • Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs, etc.
  • Coordinate with warehouse on goods deliveries to store locations and update delivery tracker.
  • Create items and purchase orders (POs), upload approved retail prices in the Product Pricing Code (PPC), and maintain POS panel key promotion codes.
  • Perform post-analysis of seasonal collections, evaluate product mix performance, and conduct pre-analysis of future trends to ensure strategic OTB allocation for profit and stock turn.
  • Compute OTB based on sales trends, product mix plans, and GMROI targets.
  • Work closely with buyers and country brand managers to ensure OTB supports store presentation, CC requirements, and business opportunities based on trend shifts.
  • Collaborate with buyers and brand principals with reports.
  • Verify cost of goods with Finance to ensure data integrity.
  • Manage stationery supplies for office and shop staff.
  • Print price tickets and barcodes for stores when needed.
  • Manage return-to-vendor processes and defective items.
  • Assist in store setups and promotional events.
  • Participate in stock takes, external sales events, and stock returns.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL and Excel skills (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interest in fashion merchandising (preferred).
  • Minimum diploma or degree in any field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in merchandising.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Up-to-date with latest merchandising trends and practices.
