Job summary

PETROS is seeking an experienced Mechanical Static & Piping expert to join our team in Malaysia. The role covers the full project lifecycle, including the design, integrity, and reliability of pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers and piping systems to meet technical and regulatory standards.

The candidate will provide technical assurance, drive engineering excellence, and mentor engineers within the discipline, supporting PETROS’ in-house capability development and cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); Professional Engineer (PE) status desirable.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in oil & gas, energy or petrochemical sectors, with 5+ years in senior/static mechanical/piping roles.
• Strong expertise across full lifecycle: front-end to commissioning and operations.
• Familiar with international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and engineering drawings/software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expertise across project lifecycle: FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance.
• Lead design, specification and selection of static equipment (pressure vessels, tanks, piping, heat exchangers) per codes.
• Ensure deliverables meet HSE, integrity, cost, and reliability requirements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., DOSH) and support certifications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within Mechanical Static & Piping discipline.
• Develop PETROS' internal capabilities through knowledge sharing and forums.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, project, procurement, and external partners.
