Job summary

A leading firm in offshore energy projects is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage static equipment for oil and gas facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical specifications, compliance with international standards, and strong coordination abilities within complex engineering environments. This role is based in Kuala Lumpur and offers a chance to contribute significantly to challenging offshore projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong background in offshore projects, preferably including FPSO design and fabrication.
  • Proven experience working on EPC projects from design through delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical specifications and requisitions for a range of static mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, separators, heat exchangers (shell and tube, plate and frame), and air coolers.
  • Ensure design and documentation comply with applicable international codes, such as ASME Sec VIII Div-1/Div-2, EN 13445, API, NACE, and WRC standards.
  • Review supplier documents including drawings, datasheets, and calculations for completeness and compliance.
  • Act as the main point of contact for technical matters related to static equipment packages.
  • Collaborate with internal disciplines and external vendors to ensure timely and technically accurate delivery.
  • Provide support during equipment fabrication, including vendor shop inspections and technical troubleshooting.
  • Participate in construction and commissioning activities where required, providing engineering input on site.
  • Resolve technical issues independently during design, fabrication, and delivery stages.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and ethics in all work activities.

This role is ideal for experienced professionals looking to take technical ownership of critical packages in a complex engineering environment. You will be based in Kuala Lumpur and support the full lifecycle of mechanical equipment packages for offshore oil and gas facilities.
