Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Construction

Company Overview

Join a leading engineering and construction consultancy specializing in complex industrial projects, including Data Centres and high-tech facilities. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale Data Centre project in Johor. This is a critical role in ensuring the successful design, coordination, and implementation of all mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering works throughout the construction phase of the Data Centre project.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH units, fire protection systems, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure all mechanical works comply with specifications, standards, and local regulations.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and technical audits to ensure quality and progress.
• Identify design and construction issues, propose solutions, and liaise with relevant stakeholders to implement changes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and health regulations are strictly followed during construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 1 years in Data Centre or other mission-critical facility projects.
• Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, fire protection, and mechanical systems in industrial or high-tech facilities.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and local Malaysian codes.
• Proven experience in managing subcontractors and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Johor full-time.
