Job description

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their ongoing mining project located in Perak, Malaysia. This is a key technical role responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and integrity of mechanical systems on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including heavy-duty pumps, hydraulic equipment and piping infrastructure.
• Supervise and coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of mechanical works.
• Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement engineering solutions to optimize plant performance.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Ensure compliance with relevant mechanical integrity standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within heavy industries such as mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation.
• Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty pumps, pressure systems, and mechanical standards.
• Hands-on experience with predictive maintenance techniques and failure analysis.
• Experience working with hydraulic jack for drilling is highly advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
