Job summary

Gamuda Berhad is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Penang to lead rail project mechanical work. You will craft and review mechanical designs and calculations, coordinating with consultants and ensuring code compliance for LRT/MRT infrastructure.

With 8+ years in mechanical design, you will oversee site supervision, manage design approvals, and drive rigorous QA/QC through FAT/SAT testing and O&M documentation. Full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years in mechanical design engineering, with 5 years in rail projects.
• Proficient with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and related standards.
• Experience coordinating design reviews with consultants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with consultants to review mechanical designs for cost-effectiveness and compliance.
• Develop and evaluate core mechanical designs including drawings, data sheets, and specs.
• Monitor site activities and oversee delivery, coordinating with consultants and contractors.
• Review shop drawings, submissions, and ensure alignment with approved designs.
• Enforce QA/QC during commissioning and manage FAT/SAT and O&M documentation.
