Job summary

You will oversee procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to forecasting and budgeting. The role requires strong leadership and a track record in materials management at a mid to senior level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years materials experience in automotive manufacturing
• Supervisory/management experience required
• Strong foundation in profit planning and forecasting is desirable

Responsibilities

• Evaluate suppliers based on delivery speed, price, and quality.
• Interview vendors and visit supplier distribution centers and plants to learn about prices, products and services.
• Attend conferences, trade shows and meetings to network with suppliers and learn about industry trends.
• Analyze financial reports, price proposals and other information to determine pricing.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers for product delivery.
• Meet with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable/defective products and establish corrective action.
