To support Zoom In strategies; COGS reduction, take charge to drive cost-saving initiatives. We have a very strong pipeline of projects and opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.

Initiate projects caused by material absorption issues due to unforeseen circumstances such as global critical material shortages, supplier changes to more ESG-friendly materials, supplier relocation, ultra-low market demand, geopolitical issues, etc.

Mitigate supply risks by identifying potential alternatives (new materials, specifications, suppliers, processes, technologies, etc.).

Support material sourcing processes, evaluate samples in preliminary stages, and develop promising projects in the pipeline.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency, and productivity improvements to meet department goals.

Support supplier audits at new suppliers’ facilities to assess their technical capabilities and competencies.

Collaborate with Innovation & Quality functions to ensure design change processes and QHB are fully compliant.

Mentor and coach junior materials engineers if needed.

Develop, execute, and document comprehensive test plans and strategies, and create test cases based on product requirements and usability.

Identify products, components, and materials with the greatest potential for cost reduction.

Lead or participate in sourcing, developing product specifications, technically purchasing materials, and implementing new materials in existing products.

Re-engineer products according to R&D Design Change procedures to use less expensive materials, reduce quantities of costly materials, substitute lower-cost materials where possible, and select the best combination of materials to achieve cost competitiveness while meeting quality and performance standards.

Document all activities according to Design Control SOP.

Work closely with IE and production teams to ensure design for manufacturing in all material change projects.

Participate and lead in material change activities due to supplier changes and obsolescence.

Review and approve project documents and deviations.

Ensure products are reproducible with high quality in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Carry out projects/activities to meet or exceed organizational and external regulatory expectations and requirements.

Follow up on resource utilization in projects, report, and involve relevant stakeholders worldwide.

Requirements:

Technical (engineering) expertise and knowledge of ISO13485 are compulsory.

Detail-oriented, organized, capable of delivering high-quality work.

Enthusiastic about the medical device manufacturing industry.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Innovative, out-of-the-box thinker.

Independent, dedicated, with a high sense of integrity.
