Job summary

TE Connectivity in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to supervise the production of mechanical assemblies across low to high complexity and oversee inventory control.

You will lead process improvement projects to optimize efficiency, reduce waste and improve quality, apply Lean Six Sigma/5S, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with product development, quality, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related field
• 3+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering, preferably in high-mix, low-volume environments
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization
• Experience with PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and RCA
• Proficient in CAD and MS Office
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and support process improvement projects to optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality
• Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing processes and tooling for new and existing products
• Collaborate with product development, quality, and production teams on new product introduction and design for manufacturability
• Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Lead Lean Six Sigma and 5S initiatives across the production floor
• Support capacity planning and equipment layout optimization
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the operations team
