Job summary

Celestica in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is seeking a Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process to design, develop, deploy and optimize processes to achieve quality, cost and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers’ products.

The role requires evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, coordinating with vendors, and providing technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control domains. A Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes through design, research, and collaboration with vendors and operators.
• Develops processes by studying requirements, designing and testing methods and equipment, and coordinating with vendors.
• Improves efficiency by analyzing workflow, space needs, and equipment layout.
• Ensures product and process quality by designing tests, validating capabilities, and establishing standards.
• Provides cost and capacity insights by calculating production, labor, and material costs and reviewing schedules.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services and following procedures.
• Completes design projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Determines root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommends changes.
• Estimates costs, production times, or staffing for new designs.
• Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
• Provides technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
