Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in IT within semiconductor manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Solid knowledge of control/optimization of material flows.
  • Experience in working with large data sets and IT architectures.

The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

The group you work in deals with operational and strategic topics aimed at increasing productivity in semiconductor manufacturing. In addition to strategic projects, the group is responsible for strategic factory simulation and operational material flow optimization at the site. This includes responsibility for the following core topics:

  • Factory control and material flow optimization (Dispatching/Scheduling)
  • Factory simulation via discrete event simulation
  • Line analysis and decision support in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Data mining for extraction, transformation, and validation of system-critical data
  • Planning and execution of strategic projects at Bosch locations worldwide

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the continuous development of factory control at the site
  • Design and implementation of state-of-the-art control methods
  • Optimization of processes regarding workflow organization and cost-effectiveness
  • Analysis and evaluation of relevant factory key figures with interdisciplinary teams
  • In-depth collaboration with adjacent groups, e.g., capacity planning, reporting, etc.
Qualifications
  • Possess at least a Bachelors' Degree or a Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in IT within semiconductor manufacturing or similar industries
  • Solid knowledge in the control/optimization of material flows
  • Broad background knowledge and practical experience with control methods
  • Excellent programming skills in a high-level language (C#, Java, Python)
  • Very good understanding of manufacturing-oriented IT architectures
  • Proven experience in working with large data sets is an advantage (databases)
  • Experience in data mining and statistics, as well as in the field of data science, is desirable
  • Good team player & good collaboration within an international environment
  • High level of independence and flexibility
  • Strong communication and assertiveness skills
  • Professional presentation and confident demeanor
