A leading global supplier of technology, Bosch in Malaysia seeks a Senior Manufacturing IT Engineer responsible for ensuring the performance of manufacturing applications in a semiconductor testing facility. The company has three manufacturing sites and R&D offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools, and steering systems. A new plant, PgP5, is a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan, Penang, with operations starting in 2023. This facility focuses on final testing of semiconductors and sensors, supporting Bosch’s global manufacturing network.
As part of the Manufacturing IT team, your role involves establishing and maintaining a robust CIM environment for our Final Test facility in Penang. You will collaborate with local and international application owners, developers, and suppliers to ensure the continuous availability and performance of manufacturing applications/software (e.g., MES, XSITE, SPACE, BOPP, SBL), minimizing production disruptions.
Your responsibilities include installing updates and patches, validating new applications or versions, conducting approval processes, and monitoring application performance. You will lead problem-solving efforts related to manufacturing applications, ensure security compliance per Bosch standards, and spearhead projects to improve IT quality, connectivity, and stability within the CIM environment.
Ideal candidates are motivated, communicative, cooperative, assertive, and willing to travel occasionally. They should be independent, result-oriented, reliable, and possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing IT and the semiconductor industry. Proficiency in office applications, problem-solving, and quality methods is required, with basic technical leadership experience preferred. A degree in IT or related fields is necessary, with interdisciplinary thinking and an interest in semiconductor technology being advantageous. Good command of English is essential.
