Job summary

Agensi Pekerjaan Penta Consultancy Sdn. Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a QA Tester to support web, mobile, and desktop testing across projects.

You will translate business needs into test scenarios and work with developers, BAs, and business users to plan and estimate efforts, then execute UAT and document results. The role requires hands-on manual testing, knowledge of SDLC, familiarity with Jira/Confluence/SharePoint, and experience with testing frameworks such as Cucumber or TestNG.

Qualifications

• Proficient in manual testing.
• Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g. JAVA, Python, VBScript).
• Experience on testing frameworks (e.g. Cucumber, TestNG or similar).
• Familiar with Github.
• Able to work independently and across different functions.
• Strong sense of drive and responsibility.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptable in a dynamic work environment.
• Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test plans and test cases is advantageous.
• Experience in manual testing covering web, mobile and desktop applications.
• Familiar with test management and version control tools.
• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
• Solid understanding of SDLC framework.
• Exposure to Waterfall and Agile testing methodologies.
• Minimum of 3 years of manual testing experience.
• Hands-on experience in testing sales portal platforms is required.
• Insurance industry experience is required.
• Ability to read Chinese characters is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the prompt delivery and implementation of strategic QA initiatives and BAU enhancements.
• Participate in discussions with business teams and BA to estimate tester resources and effort (in man-days).
• Collaborate with Developers, BA and business teams to understand planned enhancements.
• Translate business requirements into test scenarios, conditions and expected results for UAT.
• Execute UAT and document test results.
• Track outstanding defects and coordinate with delivery to resolve tickets on time.
• Proactively improve test coverage and execution.
• Attend Scrum ceremonies and meetings (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
• Prepare testing status reports with business users.
