Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Overall Responsibilities
  2. - Collaborate with various business teams to plan and execute communication activations targeting corporate, consumer, and seller audiences, ensuring objectives are met.
  3. - Develop strategic narratives and insights appealing to media, thought leaders, and consumers, including messaging for Lazada’s technology, products, and initiatives.
  4. - Support thought leadership and industry speaking opportunities for executives.
  5. - Build and manage media relationships, including maintaining a media database in Malaysia, planning engagements, and working with agencies and partners to cultivate media KOL relationships.
  6. - Coordinate with Lazada’s regional communications team to support regional activations and provide regional insights from Vietnam.

Press Office Function & Content Creation

  1. - Manage media queries and interviews, including drafting responses, coordinating interviews, and preparing briefing documents.
  2. - Support content creation for Lazada’s news hub, LinkedIn profiles, and paid media in various formats.
  3. - Develop communication materials such as press releases, story angles, pitch notes, FAQs, etc., aligned with business needs.
  4. - Identify and support thought leadership opportunities, including speaker engagements and content creation.

Issues Management

  1. - Provide counsel on issues and crisis communications to mitigate negative coverage.
  2. - Support issue & crisis monitoring, including media monitoring, crafting statements, and liaising with media as needed.

Job Requirements

  • - Minimum 8 years of experience in media, newsroom, or public relations agency.
  • - Client-centered mindset, collaborative, with strong time management.
  • - Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • - Journalism or content creation background is a plus.
  • - Proficiency in Malay and English; Mandarin is a plus.
  • - Creative thinking for developing original ideas.
  • - Support strategic initiatives and content strategies.
  • - Ability to develop and maintain media and stakeholder networks.
