Job description

1. Responsible to manage wide range of projects and tasks aimed at integrating sustainable practices and principles into the Organisation’s business operations

2. To manage the day-to-day operations, development, and growth of the Sustainability division and any other strategic and tactical plans

Primary Duties:

a) Plan and implement sustainability strategies tailored to business needs by identifying areas for improvement, establishing measurable targets, and develop plans to enhance environmental, social, and governance sustainability in the Organisation

b) Oversee initiatives to reduce energy and water consumption, waste management, and other relevant material matters, as well as to promote the use of renewable resources by implementing energy-efficient technologies, waste reduction programs, and eco-friendly practices to minimize overall environmental impact

c) Ensure compliance on environmental regulations and standards on Organisation level as well as prepare sustainability reports to be presented to stakeholders and public, detailing the Organisation's performance in areas such as greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste management and other relevant material matters

d) Lead engagement with internal/external stakeholders including employees, vendors, clients, local communities as well as establishing partnerships with NGOs and government agencies to advocate sustainability initiatives; sharing knowledge & best practices, fostering collaboration on sustainability projects, and drive collective efforts toward sustainability

e) Collaborate with HR team on campaigns and initiatives in promoting social responsibility within the Organisation by introducing inclusive workplaces, support diversity and equity, and ensure ethical practices in the supply chain

f) Stay abreast about emerging sustainability trends/ technologies and provide innovative solutions, evaluate the feasibility of implementing new practices, and assess the potential impact on the Organisation’s sustainability goals

g) Lead in planning & organising educational programs by organizing workshops, seminars, or training sessions to build awareness about sustainable practices and encouraging behaviour change in achieving sustainability literacy within the Organisation

h) Monitor and evaluate continuous improvement of sustainability initiatives through data analysis, tracking progress towards sustainability goals, and identify areas of improvement in ensuring Organisation’s sustainability effort may evolve over period of time

i) Establish ethical practices in supply chain and develop SOPs & policies for Procurement to adhere to, and Internal Audit to check for compliance

j) Attend to any other duties as may be assigned by the Management/ DGCEO from time to time

Requirement

A recognised degree in Environmental Science/ Sustainability/ relevant disciplines, or related post-graduate qualifications, and/or commensurate experience leading ESG strategy and initiatives.

More than 10 years of relevant experience in the Sustainability field/ reporting, ESG initiatives, consulting, or other relevant fields on leadership/ managerial level.

Experience in GRI Standards, SASB Standards, TCFD Recommendations, CDP, FTSE4Good and other disclosure/ rating platforms is essential.

Experience in ESG data management and narrative preparation for sustainability reports and disclosures.

5+ years’ experience in the Agricultural and Property sector related to environmental sustainability, crop/plantation management, property development, and agronomy is desirable.

Strong business acumen with good technical knowledge.

Pro-active, enthusiastic and self-driven with high level of integrity.

Good negotiation skills, organizational skills, listening skills, highly motivated, flexible and result oriented.
