JOB OVERVIEW
The position also focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, government entities, and community organizations.
The individual in this role will drive strategic collaborations, ensure project success, and contribute to overall fundraising goals by engaging stakeholders through meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships.
SPECIFIC KNOWLDEGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
1. Responsible for developing MAF fundraising, marketing, and communications strategies to deliver significant growth in supporter base, income generation and brand position.
2. Proven ability to lead and inspire fundraising and communication teams, driving visible results through innovative and creative approaches.
3. Track record of fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high professional standards within teams.
4. Ability to align fundraising and communication efforts with broader organizational objectives and strategies.
5. Deep understanding and empathy for issues related to HIV/AIDS, with a genuine commitment to creating positive change in affected communities.
6. Capacity to effectively advocate for the cause and build support through storytelling, empathy, and public engagement.
7. Awareness of the unique challenges, operational structures, and ethical considerations that distinguish NGOs from other sectors.
8. Familiarity with working within limited budgets, donor expectations, and the importance of transparency and accountability.
9. Strong administrative skills, including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources management, and budget oversight.
10. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and coordinate team efforts effectively to meet deadlines and objectives.
11. Demonstrated creative flair with a proven record of developing and implementing innovative fundraising campaigns and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
FUNDRAISING
OBJECTIVE: Secure unrestricted funds worth RM1 million per year to sustain MAF’s work in the long-term and significantly increase donors and supporter base.
1. Plan, direct, monitor and evaluate all fundraising targets for the fundraising team. Ensure that each stream of income defined in the fundraising strategy has a detailed work plan and the associated staff are clear about their required work plans, targets and KPIs.
2. Raise funds from members of the public in the most cost effective and sustainable way, primarily through Regular Giving Programme.
3. Develop strategy to revitalise MAF Social Enterprise through new product development, sales strategy and partnership with HIV community.
4. Develop stable, high value relationships with corporate donors, growing the breadth and & scale of corporate commitment for AIDS Solidarity Funds.
5. Develop and maintain a portfolio of companies and take responsibility for delivering and developing plans for securing new income from businesses and identify opportunities within the corporate sectors.
6. Ensure the optimum level of return on investment for fundraising programmes and ensure reporting are in place to regularly monitor performance.
7. Develop and execute the workplan for raising unrestricted money from corporate and individual donors through fundraising events such as MAF Red Ribbon Gala and other fundraising events.
Fundraising Event Planning and Strategy
1. Develop a strategic event plan aligned with the organization's goals and fundraising targets.
2. Identify and define event objectives, target audience, and key performance indicators.
3. Conduct market research to assess event feasibility and identify potential sponsors and partners.
4. Design and execute marketing campaigns to promote events and maximize attendance.
5. Oversee the development of promotional materials (e.g., flyers, press releases, social media content).
6. Collaborate with the media and communications team for broader outreach and press coverage.
7. Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including charity galas, campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.
8. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure event success.
9. Manage event budgets and oversee logistics, marketing, and volunteer engagement.
Budgeting and Financial Management
1. Develop, manage, and oversee the MAF's annual budget.
2. Monitor expenditures and financial transactions to maintain compliance with budgetary guidelines.
3. Prepare financial forecasts and provide strategic advice on resource allocation.
4. Generate detailed financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with departments to facilitate budget planning and ensure effective financial management practices.
Donor and Sponsor Relations:
1. Engage and cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors, sponsors, and corporate partners.
2. Organize recognition and appreciation initiatives for donors and sponsors.
3. Prepare and present post-event reports and impact statements to maintain transparency and accountability.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors, sponsors, and partners.
5. Design and implement effective donor engagement and recognition programs.
6. Regularly update donors on the impact of their contributions and provide stewardship reports.
Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorships
1. Identify and approach corporate partners for sponsorship opportunities.
2. Develop tailored sponsorship packages and proposals to match corporate interests with MAF's mission.
3. Ensure the fulfillment of sponsorship agreements and maintain positive relationships with corporate sponsors.
Carry out any other duties as may be directed by the Executive Director of Malaysian AIDS Foundation & Malaysian AIDS Council to further the aims of MAF.
