About Our Client

Our Client is a global maritime transport organization connects businesses worldwide, moving standardized cargo via an extensive fleet and network. They offer comprehensive shipping and logistics, with digital platforms and specialized services for various cargo types. They are a key player in international trade and they are looking for a Senior Manager to pioneer their Malaysian team.

Job Description

  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Deliver detailed analyses and strategic recommendations to executive management regarding sector performance, competitive intelligence, and market evolution.
  • Assess market shifts, consumer requirements, and competitive positioning to identify potential expansion and recommend strategic refinements.
  • Oversee the development and accuracy of sales and tender pipelines, in collaboration with sector leaders and the sales director.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to regional offices on sector-specific objectives and issues.
  • Facilitate the execution of sector strategies through active communication with sector leads, the sales director, and commercial steering committees.
  • Engage in routine international team meetings for information exchange.
  • Manage sector-related project initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

  • A formal higher education qualification.
  • A decade of proven commercial success within the shipping, logistics, or supply chain industries, with a strong emphasis on vertical-specific sales.
  • A history of consistently meeting and surpassing sales goals in a business-to-business environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Southeast Asian commercial landscape, its clientele, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence diverse teams across various international locations.
  • Exceptional skills in negotiation, verbal communication, and persuasive presentations.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management platforms (specifically Salesforce) and the ability to utilize data analytics for sales performance monitoring.
  • A solid grasp of established sales methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in standard office software, including advanced spreadsheet, presentation, and data visualization tools.
  • A proactive, team-oriented individual with a strong drive for results.
