Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Qualification manager to define, implement, and assess qualification strategies based on automotive standards and customer requirements. In this role, you will ensure that qualification tests are managed effectively within the agreed time and cost frameworks, drive problem-solving initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high-quality and reliable products. You will also be responsible for providing expert customer support, handling crisis management in case of critical deviations, and ensuring that the appropriate documentation is provided for customer approvals.

Job Description

In your new role you will:

  • Define and implement qualification strategies based on automotive standards (AEC Q100, Q006) and customer-specific requirements. Continuously assess and improve these strategies to ensure alignment with market needs.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of qualification tests, ensuring that the process is conducted according to agreed-upon plans and schedules, while staying within time and cost constraints.
  • Provide regular reports to the project leader and other core project teams, detailing qualification progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Offer customer support in cases of quality or reliability-related requests, ensuring timely responses and the provision of solutions that meet customer expectations.
  • Prepare and maintain qualification documentation that meets both internal and customer standards, ensuring all records are complete and accurate.
  • Lead and drive the problem-solving process (using 8D methodology) for any qualification failures. Quickly identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure that customers receive appropriate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards.
  • Lead focus and task force teams as part of crisis management efforts resulting from critical deviations in qualifications. Work to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.
  • When applicable, ensure the involvement of Quality Assurance (QA) experts, particularly in areas like Functional Safety (ISO 26262), to maintain product safety and compliance.
  • Oversee product monitoring for a specific group of products, including the setup of qualification plans, ensuring the timely availability of results, assessing results, and taking corrective actions when deviations are identified.

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A university degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a comparable field.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in Quality Management with a focus on product and/or technology development, preferably within a semiconductor or electronics environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive qualification standards, particularly AEC Q100 and AEC Q006.
  • Solid understanding of automotive quality management systems, processes, and methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
