Senior Manager – Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax (GMT)

Description

At PwC, our people in tax services focus on providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. These individuals help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimise their tax positions.

Those in tax compliance at PwC will focus on validating clients' compliance with tax laws and regulations. You will review and analyse financial data, prepare and file tax returns, and assist businesses in meeting their tax obligations while minimising risks of non-compliance.

As a Senior Manager, you'll have the opportunity to work on some of our largest multi-country tax engagements focusing on Pillar Two Global Minimum Tax. You will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

  • Advising some of the largest Malaysian multinational enterprises and foreign companies on Pillar Two GMT implications in Malaysia and other jurisdictions.
  • Preparing impact assessment models and analysing gaps based on the client’s ERP, tax accounting and reporting systems.
  • Providing technical support for Pillar Two GMT for tax accounting reporting process as well as delivering compliance and reporting solutions.
  • Encouraging everyone to have a voice and invite opinion from all, including quieter members of the team.
  • Dealing effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
  • Initiating open and candid coaching conversations at all levels.
  • Moving easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
  • Anticipating stakeholder needs, and developing and discussing potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required.
  • Contributing technical knowledge in the area of specialism.
  • Contributing to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart.
  • Navigating the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
  • Initiating and leading open conversations with teams, clients and stakeholders to build trust.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and/or professional qualification.
  • Strong business technical knowledge with at least 6 years working experience in tax compliance, international tax and/or audit and consultancy, ideally in a professional services organization.
  • Pillar Two GMT knowledge/experience, though not required, will be an added advantage.
  • A good understanding of IFRS and/or MFRS rules will be an added advantage.
  • A commitment to learn new tax concepts and work in a tax technology environment.
  • Excellent client handling and teamwork skills.
  • People management and project management experience.
  • A good level of commercial awareness.
  • Self-motivated and an appetite to support business development efforts to advertise our services and secure new clients.
  • Possess good English speaking and writing skills.
