- Build and maintain strong business partnerships with brand market leaders and suppliers through strategic alignment to maximize sales support.
- Negotiate trading terms with suppliers to increase rebates and profit margins.
- Responsible for new product listing and sourcing.
- Drive additional operating income by promoting in-store advertising space and trade marketing displays to suppliers.
- Manage overall category performance.
- Coordinate with suppliers to execute monthly and seasonal promotion plans, providing guidance on sales mechanics to the Marketing department.
- Lead the coordination of promotional campaigns on behalf of the department.
- Support operations by resolving daily issues raised through email or communication apps like WhatsApp.
- Oversee communication with Operations to ensure smooth execution and compliance with merchandising strategies.
- Assist in stock allocation for new store expansions and store revamps.
- Forecast sales and manage stock purchases to control stock turnover days, ensuring efficient supply chain management and minimizing liquidity risks.
- Ensure optimal supply from suppliers to minimize missed sales opportunities.
- Analyze sales performance across categories, promotions, items, and suppliers, reporting findings to superiors.
- Monitor market pricing and competitor activities to maintain product competitiveness and attract customers.
- Maintain accurate data on suppliers and products within the POS system.
- Brief operations and marketing teams to uphold best store merchandising practices by setting guidelines and ensuring the implementation of store cleanliness policies.
- Support online sales development, including platforms like GrabMart and other e-commerce channels.
- Act as the liaison for operational issues with suppliers, including B2B subscriptions and invoicing processes.
- Ensure full compliance with internal SOPs, especially concerning stock purchase policies.
- Coordinate projects across departments to facilitate team and internal function collaboration.
Must Have
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising, retail, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
