Senior Manager, Marketing Communications

The Marcom Manager / Senior Manager is a pivotal role responsible for developing, managing, and executing impactful events and cultivating mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. This individual will oversee all aspects of Marcom and event planning and execution, from conceptualization to post-event analysis, ensuring they align with organizational goals and brand identity. A key aspect of this role involves identifying, cultivating, and formalizing strategic partnerships through the development and management of clear and effective business agreements. This individual will build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, driving collaborations that enhance reach, impact, and revenue. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional project management, communication, relationship-building, and business acumen, particularly in drafting and managing agreements.

Responsibilities:

Event Management:

  1. Strategy and Planning: Develop comprehensive event strategies aligned with organizational objectives, target audience, and budget.
  2. Conceptualization and Execution: Lead the planning and execution of a variety of events, including conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars, fundraising galas, product launches, and internal events.
  3. Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing ROI.
  4. Vendor Management: Source, negotiate with, and manage external vendors, including venues, caterers, AV providers, decorators, and entertainment.
  5. Logistics and Operations: Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, registration, attendee communication, on-site management, and post-event follow-up.
  6. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the cross-function teams to develop and implement event marketing and communication plans to drive engagement, traffic and conversion.
  7. Content and Programming: Work with internal teams and external vendors/partners to develop engaging event content and programming.
  8. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with events.
  9. Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct thorough post-event evaluations, analyze results, and provide recommendations for future improvements.
  10. Staying Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in event management.

Strategic Partnership Management:

  1. Identification and Research: Identify and research potential strategic partners that align with the organization's goals and values.
  2. Cultivation and Outreach: Initiate and cultivate relationships with prospective partners through networking, outreach, and compelling proposals.
  3. Proposal Development: Develop and present partnership proposals that clearly articulate mutual benefits and objectives.
  4. Negotiation and Agreement: Negotiate partnership terms and develop formal partnership agreements.
  5. Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic partners, fostering strong and collaborative relationships.
  6. Collaboration and Execution: Work closely with internal teams and partners to implement partnership initiatives and ensure successful execution.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the performance of partnerships against agreed-upon metrics and KPIs.
  8. Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and reports on partnership activities and outcomes to internal stakeholders.
  9. Expansion and Growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships and explore new collaborative ventures.
  10. Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential partnership opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. Min bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
  2. Experience and seasoned Manager with min 10 years of proven experience in event planning and management, with a track record of successfully executing diverse events.
  3. Min 8 years of experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships, with demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong external relationships.
  4. Strong understanding of campaign planning, event marketing, budgeting, and logistics.
  5. Excellent negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  6. Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  10. Experience with event management software and CRM systems is a plus.
  11. Familiarity with the retail or mall industry landscape is an advantage.
  12. Fluency in English is a must.
