Job Title: Senior Manager / Manager – Haulage Business Unit

About the Role
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager / Manager to lead our Haulage Business Unit in Malaysia. This pivotal role involves overseeing haulage operations, driving business growth, and enhancing productivity through strong data analysis, operational management, safety leadership, and commercial development. The role reports directly to the General Manager based in Singapore and plays a vital part in aligning execution with group direction.
Key Responsibilities
Business Performance & Data Analytics
- Monitor and analyze operational KPIs, cost structures, and fleet utilization to support data-driven decisions.
- Prepare dashboards, business reports, and performance reviews for senior management.
- Translate data into actionable insights to improve efficiency, profitability, and service levels.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee haulage operations including planning, dispatching, driver management, and turnaround time.
- Drive continuous improvements in fleet productivity, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Enforce SOPs and operational discipline across all locations.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop strategies to grow revenue and customer base through active business development.
- Work closely with clients to understand requirements, respond to RFQs, and deliver competitive solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping lines, and vendors.
Safety & Compliance Leadership
- Take full ownership of safety across logistics operations including transport and yard activities.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company HSE policies.
- Lead safety briefings, audits, incident reviews, and risk assessments.
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in operational safety standards.
Strategic Projects & Process Improvement
- Lead and support initiatives to optimize routes, reduce empty mileage, and implement automation or system enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, Compliance) to deliver operational innovation.
- Support digital transformation efforts to improve visibility and control.
Requirements
- Preferably Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in haulage or transport operations, including team leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
- Solid experience in safety and regulatory compliance for logistics operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and drive commercial outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Independent, accountable, and confident in managing both operations and customer engagement.
