Job summary

IOI Corporation Berhad is seeking a Senior Manager, Internal Audit based in Sabah to lead the Lahad Datu and Sandakan offices. You will conduct risk-based audits, provide assurance on governance and internal controls, and advise on process improvements across the plantation and related sectors.

Travel to sites is required. The role requires 15 years of internal audit experience (3+ years as Senior Manager), leadership, and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in accounting or related professional qualification.
• CIA qualification would be desirable for this role.
• Minimum 15 years of internal audit experience, with 3+ years in Senior Manager capacity.
• Strong governance, risk management and internal control knowledge.
• Proven leadership, interpersonal and communication skills in English and BM.
• Willingness to travel and work in challenging locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Lahad Datu and Sandakan Audit Office operations.
• Conduct risk-based operational, financial and compliance audits.
• Provide assurance on governance, risk management and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, laws and quality systems.
• Provide advisory services to improve business processes and controls.
• Perform ad hoc reviews and investigations when requested.
• Deliver timely quarterly and annual audit reports to Head Office.
• Maintain smooth day-to-day office operations in Sabah.

Senior Manager, Internal Audit (Based in Sabah)

Job Description:- The incumbent is overall responsible for managing the Lahad Datu and Sandakan Audit Office which include:

Responsible for conducting risk based operational, financial and compliance audits based on the annual audit plan approved by the Audit Committee.

Provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the governance, risk management and the internal control systems and processes.

Ensure compliance with standard operating policies and procedures, laws and regulations and quality management systems.

Provide advisory services on areas for improvement in business systems, processes, internal controls and operational efficiencies.

Conduct ad hoc assignments like special reviews and investigations as and when the need arises and/or requested by the management.

Timely quarterly and annual audit reporting to the Head Office.

Smooth day to day running of the Lahad Datu and Sandakan Audit Office.

To perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Group Internal Audit.

Job Requirements:-

Candidates must posses at least a Honours Degree in Accountancy and/or Professional Accounting/Auditing Qualifications. CIA qualification would be desirable.

Minimum of 15 years internal audit experience preferably in the Plantation or related sectors (with at least 3 years in the Senior Manager capacity).

Well verse with governance, risk management and internal control processes of the Oil Palm Plantation Industry. Added advantage if with exposure in SAP system.

Possess critical thinking and good analytical skills and is resourceful and solution oriented.

Possess strong leadership and good interpersonal/communication skills and able to work under pressure to meet reporting deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Willingness to travel and stay in challenging locations/working environments.
