We are seeking a passionate and experienced Safety, Health & Environment Senior Manager to lead and champion all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) initiatives at our plant. You will play a critical role in building a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting our people, operations, and environment.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Health Leadership

Lead the overall planning, development, and execution of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) management systems in line with local regulations, industry best practices, and company requirements.

Formulate and implement SHE policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives to meet internal standards and external statutory requirements.

Drive a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement throughout the plant operations.

Ensure full compliance with local authorities and customer-specific SHE requirements (e.g., DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, CIDB, etc.).

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure zero tolerance towards workplace accidents, fires, or chlorine leakages to protect employee wellbeing and ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Identify potential safety risks and develop Enterprise Risk Mitigation Plans to minimize impact.

Ensure compliance with the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulation 2005 and oversee eSWIS scheduled waste management.

Conduct regular internal safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, and implement corrective actions promptly.

Lead the Emergency Control Centre and activate the Emergency Response and Crisis Management Plan during critical incidents.

Participate in incident investigations, maintain records, analyze trends, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.

Monitor hazardous activities and implement preventive safety measures.

Training & Culture Building

Drive safety awareness and cultural transformation initiatives across all levels of the plant.

Organize and deliver training programs on SHE procedures, practices, and regulatory updates.

Mentor and coach team members to build a high-performing and safety-conscious team.

Review and enhance internal communication and training procedures related to SHE matters.

Who We're Looking For:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or Environmental Science (or a related field) is required.

Certified and registered competency in either Safety, Occupational Health, or Environment disciplines.

Minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in managing Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) operations, including compliance, business standards, and liaison with government authorities.

Strong working knowledge of:

ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)

Well-versed in key Malaysian legislation, including:

Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994

Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967

Department of Environment (DOE) regulations

And other relevant legal and regulatory requirements applicable in the workplace

Proficient in applying occupational safety, health, and environmental management methods, techniques, and best practices across operations.

Skilled in auditing SHE management systems, capable of conducting assessments, identifying non-conformities, and generating accurate audit findings and conclusions.
