Job description
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

  • Source for regional business opportunities and maintain a strong knowledge/awareness on ‘whats the latest in the market' in terms of pricing as well as solutions, especially within the global forwarders industry.
  • Lead the presentation and creation of pitch/solutions decks; follow up with relevant legal and operational teams to ensure that our solutions are backed with robust legal documentation that protects Teleport as a service provider
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to scope work, identify appropriate resources to pilot solutions, set goals, track and report progress, develop schedules and communicate to customers
  • Confidently negotiate and influence customers while at the same time be able to exercise good business judgement - knowing when to exercise the trade offs where there is an opportunity for long-term partnerships
  • Create regional acquisition plans and quotas in alignment with business objectives
  • Ideate and drive acquisition strategy, process and experience from pre-sales to acquisition at the group level
  • Report on regional results
  • Build new service competencies and offerings to the market
  • Build a continuous relationship with senior members of the global partners
  • Engage country sales team to effectively secure volumes on regular basis
  • Address obstacles and problems internally and externally to ensure volumes will come through using TLP services

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of experience in business development or sales within the global forwarding or logistics industry, with a proven track record of sourcing regional business opportunities and driving client acquisitions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to pitch solutions, manage stakeholder relationships, and secure long-term partnerships.
  • Strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams, track progress, and ensure timely execution of business objectives.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and competitive landscapes to develop and refine regional acquisition strategies.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a solution-oriented approach to overcoming obstacles and driving growth
