Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Company policies and regulations;
  • Oversee all business operations relating to compliance including policies, investments, and procedures;
  • Design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies;
  • Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements;
  • Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues;
  • Coordinate with different department managers to review all departmental compliance policies;
  • Apply for compliance certification and regulatory approval;
  • Develop and maintain a compliance recordkeeping system;
  • Train employees on industry compliance requirements;
  • Maintain communication with compliance regulators and follow up on applications;
  • Keep up with compliance requirements and amendments to regulations;
  • Perform periodic audits on company procedures and processes;
  • Lead employee training sessions on legal and compliance issues;
  • Supervise compliance officers and team;
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously;
  • Revise procedures, reports, etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues;
  • Draft, modify and implement company policies;
  • Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations;
  • Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks;
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training;
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control;
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Compliance Officer, Compliance Manager, or similar position;
  • Proven experience in a Compliance Officer role (3 – 5 years);
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards, regulations, compliance requirements;
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping;
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality;
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities;
  • An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations;
  • Accredited compliance management certification is a plus.
