We are currently recruiting for an E-Commerce Senior Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and executing the comprehensive MR.DIY online retail strategy across all digital channels, including our brand website, various e commerce marketplaces, and emerging social commerce platforms. This pivotal role requires a strong commercial mindset, exceptional merchandising coordination abilities, and proven negotiation expertise, particularly with China-based suppliers. The successful candidate will drive sales growth, enhance customer experience, and optimize operational efficiency to achieve ambitious e-commerce targets.
Key Responsibilities:
E-commerce Strategy & Growth
- Develop, implement, and manage the overall e-commerce strategy to achieve sales, profitability, and market share objectives across brand.com, marketplaces and social commerce channels.
- Identify and evaluate new online business opportunities, emerging platforms, and market trends to ensure continuous growth and competitive advantage.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions and optimize online performance.
Commercial Acumen & Performance Management
- Own the e-commerce P&L, managing budgets, forecasting sales, and controlling costs to maximize profitability.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average order value, traffic, customer acquisition cost, and return on ad spend. Provide regular, insightful reports and actionable recommendations.
- Develop and execute promotional calendars and pricing strategies to drive sales while maintaining brand integrity and profitability.
Merchandising & Content Coordination
- Oversee the end-to-end merchandising process for all online channels, ensuring optimal product assortment, compelling product listings, and accurate inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing department, marketing, and creative teams to ensure high-quality product content (descriptions, images, videos) is optimized for e-commerce performance and SEO.
- Plan and coordinate online campaigns, product launches, and seasonal promotions, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with overall business objectives.
- Implement strategies for cross-selling, up-selling, and personalized recommendations to enhance customer experience and increase basket size.
Marketplace & Social Commerce Management
- Manage relationships with key marketplace account managers and social commerce platform representatives.
- Optimize product visibility and ranking on marketplaces through effective use of platform tools, advertising, and promotional activities.
- Develop and execute strategies for social commerce, leveraging live streaming, influencer collaborations, and engaging content to drive direct sales.
Supplier Negotiation & Relationship Management
- Lead negotiations with China-based suppliers for online exclusive product sourcing, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure competitive costs and reliable supply.
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring adherence to quality standards and ethical sourcing practices.
- Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize import processes and ensure timely product availability.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing e-commerce team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews for team members.
Required Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in e-commerce management, with at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multi-channel online retail.
- Proven track record of driving significant online sales growth and managing e-commerce P&L.
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial strategy, merchandising, and inventory optimization within an e-commerce context.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms and build strong relationships with international suppliers, particularly those based in China.
- In-depth knowledge of major e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), leading marketplaces and social commerce trends.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese is required, as the role involves extensive negotiations with suppliers in China.
