A leading banking group in Malaysia is seeking a skilled financial analyst to support provisioning processes and ensure accurate computations related to credit risk weighted assets. Ideal candidates will have a degree in finance, extensive experience in banking, and strong skills in risk analysis, particularly in Basel compliance and MFRS9. Process and review the monthly provision by ensuring completeness & accurate.
Support senior management and stakeholders with the provision numbers for internal management reporting, regulatory reporting, published financial statement, analysis and simulation of provisions numbers and ad-hoc requests.
Periodically review the provisioning process to ensure identify gaps are closed and manual process are enhanced for automation.
Provide provisioning Operation & Production Support.Analyze the risk drivers that cause the movement of Credit Risk Weighted Assets.
Support senior management and stakeholders with CRWA, PD & LGD for internal management reporting and ad-hoc requests.
To participate in the impending Basel III SA & IRB implementation projects.
Ensure accurate and timely provisions & credit risk weighted assets (CRWA) computation for the Group.
Provide business support and advice on identification of provision change impact and work with business to evaluate cost / benefit options.
Work with Business on the ECL Overlay & ECL simulation requests
Work with business support to identify appropriate data sources and input points to ECL calculator.
Work with IT to enable data links from data sources, develop UAT scripts, UAT testing and sign-off.
Understand nature of new product and map product risk and incorporating new products/models into the ECL & RWA calculators.
Perform sanity check on the provision numbers generated.
Perform manual adjustment / work around solutions in the event there is distortion in the provision numbers generated.
Lead team to work with own dept team & IT to enable data links from data sources to automate gaps identified.
Prepare management reporting for Basel II credit risk weighted assets and ECL summary data reports
Leading and training technical support staff and junior members.
Job Requirements:-
Degree holder with a minimum grade of Second Class Upper, or a CGPA score of 3.0 and above and operations.
At least 5 years experience in Banking/Finance related field and familiar with non-retail banking products.
Has knowledge on MFRS9 ECL and familiar with accounting principles and operations
Good command of Excel, Macro programming, SQL & SAS.
Has knowledge in Basel and understand the risk components of PD, EAD, LGD and Credit RWA.
Knowledge in credit risk modelling will be an added-advantage
Basel IRB CRWA analytics experience and ECL production support background.
