MICRON MEMORY MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. in Penang seeks an Accounting Manager to lead planning, operations and administration of corporate and international accounting within a Shared Services framework.
You will oversee monthly closes for global entities under US GAAP, maintain statutory financials and ensure audit readiness. You will drive internal controls, SOX compliance, and process improvements while mentoring talent and aligning with global strategic initiatives.
This is a challenging role in a fast paced, multinational environment. Reporting to the Director, Financial Accounting, you will lead the planning, operations and administration of in-scope corporate and international accounting functions into a Shared Service environment, growing and developing corporate and international finance functions at Micron in Penang.
Key responsibilities
Direct the planning, operations and administration of in-scope corporate and international accounting functions into Shared Service environment
Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly close processes for global entities in accordance with US GAAP while ensuring proper maintenance of statutory financials and audit practices
Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation and providing recommendations, as appropriate
Benchmark processes against best in class in the industry and drive measurable improvement in COE operational outcomes (cycle time, productivity, stability, quality), aligned to COE strategic direction and efficiency ambitions
Attract, develop and retain outstanding talent
Contribute to the global execution of key Global strategic initiatives and projects
Demonstrate and maintain a positive customer service focus to both internal and external customers, including coordination of team deliverables for audits
Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation solutions to enhance finance processes, improve efficiency and support data-driven decision-making
About you
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA preferred); MBA is an advantage
15+ years of experience in finance, accounting and reporting in high-tech industry
12+ years in leadership capability and/or in matrix organization
10+ years experience in automation projects, LEAN, or RPA
10+ years experience in SAP ERP system, including proven ability in automating processes within SAP, S4
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and local country accounting standards and audit practices
Strong team-player with experience working in a dynamic organization and demonstrated ability to build bridges between stakeholders
Strong communication and influencing skills
Superior analytical skills, understanding of data privacy, deep understanding of business principles and practices
Ability to manage change sensitively and in a collaborative manner
