Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, review and manage various commercial and legal documents including Services Agreement, Supply Agreement, Equipment Purchase Agreement, Construction Contract and other business-related contracts.
  2. Plan, execute, review and improve legal process and procedures.
  3. Monitor changes and updates to relevant laws and regulatory issues that may impact the business.
  4. Provide support on legal matters arising from the day-to-day operations of the company, with a focus on corporate, commercial, and compliance issues.
  5. Act as a liaison with local and international regulatory bodies and maintain strong regulatory relationship.
  6. Highligh, monitor and deal with potential legal action against the Company, and liaise with the external solicitor on litigation, arbitration and/or industrial relation disputes.
  7. Monitor and manage all legal expenditure.
  8. Assist with the filing and maintenance of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets; monitor the market for potential infringements and coordinate enforcement or negotiation actions.
  9. Conduct legal due diligence and risk assessments for new business projects and investments on a regular basis
  10. Conduct legal and compliance training sessions for employees, and develop materials to enhance legal awareness across departments.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or above in Law.
  2. Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya or holding an equivalent Malaysian legal qualification.
  3. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a legal role; manufacturing industry background preferred; familiar with Malaysian laws, regulations, and government approval procedures.
  4. Proficient in Contract Law, Companies Act, Employment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Product Liability, and Environmental Law.
  5. Proven experience in handling cross-border agreements and a solid understanding of foreign investment regulations and approval processes in Malaysia.
  6. Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and oral communication skills.
  7. Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, capable of bridging legal and business needs in a complex manufacturing environment.
  8. Detail‑oriented and meticulous, with high professional ethics and confidentiality awareness; able to work under pressure and respond promptly to legal matters in a fast‑paced setting.
  9. Experience in dispute resolution, including arbitration and/or litigation, with the ability to manage external counsel and support the company in legal proceedings when necessary.
