JOB DESCRIPTION
- Lead the management of litigation, arbitration, and claims, working closely with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Handle legal disputes arising from contract breaches, variations, terminations, and operational matters.
- Advise business units on contentious issues to minimize legal and commercial risk.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements (e.g., NDAs, contracts, MOUs).
- Provide legal support throughout the contract lifecycle; from tender stage to post-award dispute resolution.
- Support governance processes including management paper reviews, legal reports, and senior-level submissions.
- Partner with internal teams as a legal advisor in negotiations and strategic discussions.
- Improve legal processes by developing templates, checklists, and contract review tools.
- Collaborate with legal colleagues to provide practical legal advice aligned with company objectives.
- Undertake any other legal assignments as directed by the Head of Legal, including cross-border matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with admission to a common law jurisdiction preferred.
- 7–10 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally with exposure to both litigation/dispute resolution and commercial matters.
- Prior in-house or contract review experience is an added advantage; willingness to handle contract-related tasks is essential.
- Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and excellent analytical skills.
- Proven ability to provide effective, high-quality legal advice to business leaders.
- Experience in negotiating complex, high-value contracts and agreements.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
