Job description

With the endorsement of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, Manipal International University underwent a name change to MILA University in 2023. As part of our mission to establish a premier engineering and computing institution in Asia, MILA University is actively seeking applications for teaching positions within the School of Engineering and Computing.

We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in the following area:

Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement, and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum related to computer science.
• Develop and deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students related to computer science.
• Conduct active research, maintaining an active record of high-quality Scopus indexed publication, conference presentations and grants securement related to computer science.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of a research strategy for consistent with the research priorities.
• Contribute to the development of strong collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or society to drive research impact and educational excellence.
• Contribute to the management of education, research and/or administration in the school, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management.
• Contribute to the administration tasks of the school/department.

Job Requirements:

• A Doctoral degree (Level 8, MQF) AND a Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) AND a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computer Science field.
• Have teaching experience with at least THREE (3) years for Master of Computer Science by coursework or any computing related program.
• Must have completed PhD supervision or research master supervision.
• Active with scholarly activities in Scopus indexed peer-reviewed journal publications related to computer science.
• Familiar with MQA documentation for computing and the accreditation process as per MQA Program Standard of Computing Version 3rd Edition - Updated January 2024 Edition will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with Outcome Based Education (OBE) requirements.
• Strong knowledge in master level computer science courses.
• Must be able to create new syllabus and teach computer sciences courses with specialization on subjects related to: Research Methodology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Advanced Algorithms & Data Structure, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Research Project
• Familiar with Python, CSS, PHP, HTML, Java, C++ and C programming languages are required.
• Responsible, good work ethics, helpful nature, highly cooperative with teamwork-oriented mindset are required.
• Ability to teach well and care for students’ developments and wellbeing is mandatory.
• Able to report for duty by 1 June 2025.
