Job description

With the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, Manipal International University was renamed as MILA University in 2023. To establish a leading business school in Asia, MILA University is inviting applications for Senior Lecturer positions in the following fields of accounting:

1. Accounting (Focusing on Financial Reporting)
2. Accounting (Focusing on Auditing & Taxation)
3. Accounting (Focusing on Management Accounting)

We hope to find enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a strong record of professional practice, academic research, and/or enterprise activities in accounting who can contribute to the growth of the Business School of MILA University.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high quality teaching and learning activities in line with the strategy of the University.
• Provide timely student support and effective feedback to students to enhance the student experience and achievement.
• Provide pastoral guidance to students when appropriate.
• Contribute to the planning, design and development of subjects and programs in line with the strategy of the University.
• Participate in external and professional engagements that develop the enterprise activities of the University.
• Plan, organize and carry out research activities that support the strategy of the University.
• Secure appropriate funding to carry out a personal research plan.
• Work proactively with colleagues to achieve strategic outcomes of the University.
• Provide expert guidance and advice to colleagues within the university to resolve complex problems (for those appointed at least at Senior Lecturer level).
• Any other responsibilities entrusted by the University.

Essential Selection Criteria:

An applicant must

• Have a doctoral qualification or equivalent in the related field.
• Have relevant teaching experience.
• Have relevant research experience.

Senior Lecturer positions are available for applicants who have the potential to become leaders in the relevant discipline. Applicants must be able to plan and shape the direction of an area of research/teaching/enterprise activities.

Desirable Selection Criteria:

An applicant

1. Has secured research grants.
2. Has managed enterprise activities.
3. Have successfully supervised at least one (1) doctoral student to the completion of doctoral qualification or equivalent.
4. Is a member of one of the professional accountancy bodies recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CPA Australia or other.
