Job summary

Celestica Inc. is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Mechanical Design in Malaysia. You will lead design activities, drive development, and implement technical solutions across multiple domains, while providing technical leadership to engineers and coordinating with customers and vendors.

You will review requirements, plan deployments of strategic programs, and ensure designs meet client standards and Celestica procedures. A bachelor degree and 4–6 years’ experience are expected.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognised expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
• Review, interpret and may negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
• Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
• Proactively promote industry best practices
• May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
• Prepare calculations on the proposed solution before completing technical drawings
• Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. Sketch and draw up designs using input from other engineers, requirements and input from design review (DFx) team
• Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards
• Submit drawings to management, engineering teams and customers for review.
• Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines
• Provide support during the manufacturing process
• Finalize designs and send prints to the production department

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
