Job summary

Celestica is expanding its Design Centre in Penang, Malaysia, focusing on next‑gen networking, storage, and server technologies to power Cloud, AI, ML, Edge and 5G deployments worldwide. The Senior Lead Software Engineer will drive architecture, design and implementation across multiple market segments in highly regulated environments.

You will mentor teams and collaborate with global engineering groups to deliver robust embedded solutions.

Qualifications

Master or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Software or similar field.
5–10 years of direct working experience in product design within a multi-disciplinary environment.
PhD applicants with fewer years of industry experience will be considered.
Fluent in both written and spoken English, ability to work with an international team.
Strong teamwork attitude, collaboration and communication skills.
Business travel possible (including overseas travel).
Self-motivated with the capability to drive development efforts to completion.
Passion for building a strong innovative team to produce a reliable embedded system.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design and implementation of technical solutions in multiple market segments meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers and customers to develop world-class products for regulated markets.
Familiar with software development processes to realize products on a product/system level.
Lead and execute product realization from concept stages through manufacturing transition.
Support development of technical proposals for customers, providing solutions and cost estimates.
Be recognised as a subject matter expert for one or more technical areas.
