Job summary

Swift is seeking a senior, independent Java developer to join our Standards and Market Infrastructures team in Kuala Lumpur. You will help automate the creation and deployment of reusable artefacts and maintain the Swift Translator product across Europe and Asia.

You will work in a cross‑functional Scrum team, review designs, and ensure code quality while mentoring junior engineers in KL and collaborating with European colleagues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software development experience in Java-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Swing GUI development.
• Experience with testing: JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, etc.
• Experience with Git, IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins and Jira.
• Familiarity with XML/JSON/XSD and messaging/parsing tech.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and web technologies (React).
• Good understanding of security concepts (OWASP Top 10).
• Fluent in English and collaborative in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cross‑functional Scrum team with Product Owner and leads.
• Collaborate to ensure clear epics, user stories and robust designs.
• Contribute to technical decisions, design reviews and long‑term quality.
• Support build, deployment and CI/CD practices for reliable releases.
• Address non‑functional requirements like performance and security.
• Review code and maintain quality with testers and colleagues.
• Participate in production support when needed.
• Mentor junior staff in Kuala Lumpur and align with Europe.
• Deliver components end‑to‑end and push for continuous improvement.
