Job description

Our Client is an IT solutions & services provider specializing in Connectivity & Communications solutions (network, security, VOIP, IPPBX, SIP services) and Management Tools (IT service management and customer engagement solutions). In line with their rapid business expansion plans, they are looking for a System Engineer (Infrastructure). This is an exciting role where you will work closely with the Company and its members to ensure all system infrastructure is fully operational and to seek continuous improvements.

Compulsory Experience

Experience with VMWare, Wintel & Linux, scripting, server & storage technology and backup solutions.

What You Will Do

1. Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
2. Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
3. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
4. Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with engineers to implement those fixes.
5. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
6. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
7. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

What You Need:

Diploma/Degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering, preferably Network, Telecommunication. Network certification will be added advantage (Cisco, Network+).

Experienced with the following:

1. VMware product suites (vSphere, VSAN, SRM, vROps)
2. Wintel and Linux (housekeeping, patching, system maintenance, service process monitoring, user management)
3. Creating scripts (e.g., using Shell/Bash)
4. Web Server IIS, Apache
5. Server and storage technology such as HCI, SAN, NAS
6. Must have experience in backup solution such as Veeam, NetBackup.

Excellent troubleshooting skills including network issue, login issue, etc.

Familiar with server hardening and CIS checklist.

Basic firewall administration (modify/add new rules).

Open to Malaysian citizenship holders or equivalent only (no VISA sponsorship provided for the time being).

What's On Offer:

Offered Salary: Up to RM 10,000

Working hours: 40 hours spread over 5 days a week
