About The Role
Senior IT DR Manager at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all Disaster Recovery (DR) activities and testing to ensure the resilience, availability, and continuity of our critical IT systems. You will work closely with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, and Business Units to develop, implement, and continuously improve disaster recovery strategies and frameworks.
Primary Objective
- Coordinate (schedule, plan and execute) IT Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises for RHB Group IT; carry out exercises at least twice a year (including live tests) for regulatory reporting and to implement new DR plans for systems in need of enhancement.
- Review existing ITDR models or processes and recommend effective approaches to address SBG/SFG requirements with the objective of delivering an effective and cost-efficient ITDR services management.
- Provide first level of support for Disaster Recovery Automation (DRA) tools and coordinate DRA-related matters.
- Lead the ITDR Team with periodic management responsibilities.
Strategy and Planning
- Plan, design and review ITDR requirements using ITIL practices.
- Provide ITDR strategies and solutions to existing applications or new projects to meet RTO/RPO.
- Perform ITDR site assessments and reviews to meet stipulated requirements.
- Advise RHB Group users on ITDR needs, status and compliance requirements.
- Promote ITDR awareness amongst users and/or business units.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies in matters pertaining to ITDR.
- Formulate and document ITDR processes for RHB Group.
- Perform periodic IT Business Continuity reviews in accordance with ISO/IEC 20000 (ITSM) compliance.
ITDR Support
- Coordinate (schedule, plan and execute) ITDR exercises and ensure error-free DR execution.
- Assist supervisors to ensure 100% completion of scheduled ITDR exercises for the current year and test completion with meeting all key objectives (MTD, RTO, and RPO).
- Develop a standard for ITDR practice at RHB Group.
- Maintain all ITDR plans to ensure up-to-date documentation at all times.
- Liaise with users and business units on ITDR implementation for smooth delivery and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Audit/BNM on ITDR requirements and help achieve satisfactory ratings.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support to business units, senior management and enterprise Crisis Management teams for emergencies or tests requiring activation of DR plans and to meet regulatory requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience in a DR lead role.
- 2 years of experience in a DR supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of various IT technologies and architecture of systems.
- Professional Accreditation: Certified expert in DR or BCP.
