Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN BHD in Senai Johor is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes and lead efficiency improvements. You will coordinate NPI process planning, apply lean methods, and collaborate with engineering, production, and sales to deliver cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a degree and at least five years of related experience, with strong focus on labor utilization and production planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide process time estimation to the quote team.
• Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineers using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and/or adequate tools.
• Coordinate process planning and setup for NPI with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirements.
• Review results during prototyping and trial runs and provide feedback to NPI and sales teams.
• Examine staff utilization, facility layout, production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Identify methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste of materials and utilities.
• Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
• Develop management systems for cost reviews and financial planning and wage/salary administration.

Job description

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Senior Industrial Engineer located in Senai Johor.

What a typical day looks like:

Provides process time estimation to the quote team.

Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineers by using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and/or adequate tools.

During NPI coordinates process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement.

Reviews result duringprototypingand trial runs and gives feedback to NPI and sales team.

Work measurementprograms and examine work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.

Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.

Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizingworkflow, relocation workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.

May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.

Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.

Design or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.

Manages and supports initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.
