Job summary

DayOne Data Centers Malaysia I Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated Internal Controls professional to join our Malaysia team.

You will report to the Head of Internal Control and help build the ICFR framework in line with SOX requirements, supporting control design, documentation, and testing. You will collaborate with Finance, IT, and process owners to identify gaps, track remediation, and coordinate with auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• 4–7 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or internal controls, with exposure to SOX compliance and ICFR.
• Good understanding of SOX requirements, COSO framework, and financial reporting processes.
• Experience in preparing and maintaining process documentation (RCMs, narratives, flowcharts).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CIA, or equivalent will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, documentation, and implementation of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
• Maintain Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), process narratives, and flowcharts to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.
• Perform SOX walkthroughs and control testing (design and operating effectiveness).
• Track remediation plans and coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
• Assist in SOX scoping and risk assessment.
• Prepare periodic management reports on SOX status, deficiencies, and remediation progress.
• Support internal control awareness initiatives and training sessions across the organization.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows while maintaining strong controls.
