Penguin Solutions (SMART Modular) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior PCB Design Engineer to lead high-speed PCB development for memory and storage products. You will design HDI, multi-layer layouts and collaborate with Hardware, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams to deliver robust, manufacturable boards.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience in complex PCB design, proficiency in Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, and strong SI/PI knowledge with a focus on DFM and design verification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in EE/Mechatronics or related field.
• 5–8 years in complex PCB design and layout.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces: DDR4/5, PCIe, SATA, USB.
• Experience with memory/storage PCB design is preferred.
• Proficient in Cadence Allegro/OrCAD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced layouts for high-density, high-speed boards (HDI, vias).
• Optimize placement and routing for SI, PI, thermal, EMI/EMC.
• Create designs for rigid and rigid-flex configurations.
• Collaborate across HW, Mechanical, SI/PI, Manufacturing, and Project teams.
• Ensure DFM standards, optimize stack-up, maximize yield.
• Prepare and maintain release documentation, Gerber files.
• Lead layout reviews, verification, and change activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of PCB design practices.
