Job summary

Bright Prospect in Malaysia is seeking a qualified accountant to handle the General Ledger across business units and perform month-end close activities. The role involves journal entries, balance sheet schedules and timely reporting for statutory and management accounts.

You will also conduct intercompany reconciliations, maintain GL integrity, and ensure compliance with accounting policies. The position requires 3-4 years of relevant experience and a degree in accounting/finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-4 years of relevant work experience.
• Degree in Accounting/Finance studies.
• Experience with general ledger and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the General Ledger for business units, incl. journal entries and Balance Sheet schedules.
• Perform month-end financial reporting for statutory and management accounts.
• Perform intercompany analysis, reconciliations and netting.
• Maintain proper reconciliation of all GL accounts and ensure financial statement integrity.
• Ensure proper treatment and compliance with accounting transactions and policies.
• File statutory, business statistics and other returns as required by local tax and legal legislation.
• Assist in process improvement and documentation.
• Coordinate the year-end audit to meet deadlines.

Manage the General Ledger for business units, including journal entries and preparation of Balance Sheet Schedules and month-end financial reports

Perform month end financial reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for statutory and management accounts

Perform intercompany analysis, reconciliations and netting

Maintain proper reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts and the integrity of financial statements

Responsible for the proper treatment and compliance with all accounting transactions and policies

Responsible for filing of statutory, business statistics and other types of returns as required by local tax and legal legislations

Assist in process improvement and documentation

Coordinate the year-end audit to ensure that set deadlines are met
