Job summary

Great Eastern in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Java/J2EE full-stack developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise applications for business needs. You will work across interfaces, implement SSO for digital initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure solutions.

You will perform architecture design, coding, unit testing, deployment, and code reviews while adhering to in-house processes and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 10+ years of Java/J2EE application development experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on full-stack development.
• Experience with Node.js, REST/SOAP web services, and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native development using Kubernetes, VMware TKGI/TAS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with event-driven microservices (Kafka or similar).
• Solid understanding of authentication frameworks (OIDC, OAuth, SAML2).
• Proficient in source control (Bitbucket) and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications based on business requirements.
• Deliver interface solutions for internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new SSO capabilities for digital initiatives.
• Perform impact analysis, architecture design, coding, unit testing, and deployment.
• Conduct code reviews and non-functional testing to ensure quality.
• Comply with in-house development processes and deliver required documentation and specifications.
• Evaluate technology options and recommend solutions aligned with business needs.
• Responsible for code reviews and non-functional testing to ensure delivery quality.
• Work with Project Manager to schedule and prioritise project and BAU tasks.
